Eleanor Phillips is a multi-disciplinary artist whose speciality is working collaboratively within community contexts. She has a BA in Fine Art Sculpture, H.Dip in Community Arts Education and an MA in Public Art. To each project she takes her belief in the democratising process of collaborative art, her skills as a facilitator and her love of using readily accessible materials and renewable resources to co-create new ways of looking at the world.

2017 Withholding Blood Residency, Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow
2014-to date Outpost Studios – set-up studio collective with seven other artists. Initiated “Winter Series” talks which were open to the public and invited diverse audiences including community workers, business people, and artists. In response to this series I facilitated Self-Assemble: Creating Our Own Prospects, re-calling all those who had attended the Winter Series. The event instigated a monthly salon; a film-club and a reading group. It also prompted us to set-up an artist residency programme to be launched in 2019. 2014-2015 Ballyboden Womens Group Residency exploring women’s roles in community 2013 Dish Screening & Public Talk with Catering Workers of Killarney, Co. Wicklow, 1998 – to date Signal Arts Centre is an independent arts centre with a strong community ethic. It operates a gallery with 25 exhibitions per year, ceramics, dark room, multi-media and general workshop studios.
